Travis Kelce is a man of many talents: a part-time backup dancer for Taylor Swift, a podcast host with more than 2.4 million listeners, a certified heartthrob, and, oh yeah, a Kansas City Chiefs tight end. Now, following in his girlfriend’s footsteps, he’s adding singer to his repertoire.
The three-time Super Bowl champion has yet to drop 14 no. 1 albums and sell out a record-breaking tour, but he did give it his all at a karaoke competition during the American Century Championship charity golf tournament.
Kelce took to the stage in Lake Tahoe, Nevada—clad in a total dad ‘fit of khaki cargo shorts and a red, white, and blue polo with “USA” across the front—to belt out Whitesnake’s 1982 hit “Here I Go Again.” He put on quite the show, displaying goofy rocker dance moves, a vocal strain-induced red face, and a sign of the horns gesture that he threw into the air loud and proud.
The Instagram page for his and his brother Jason’s podcast, New Heights, shared a video of the performance, along with the caption, “Nothing beats @killatrav’s stage presence.”
Kelce was deservingly crowned winner of the competition and bestowed a $10,000 check and a small crystal trophy. A video sees the star football player giddily jumping up and down as his name is called and jokingly crying during his acceptance speech, in which he made sure to give credit where it is due. “Taylor, this is for you…I love you guys,” he said while holding his award up in the air.
Kelce seems to be quite inspired by the “Fortnight” singer’s career in the arts. It was announced in May that he will make a foray into acting with a cameo in the new Ryan Murphy show, Grotesquerie.
Even with all of his performance stints, he has devotedly been playing the part of supportive boyfriend by cheering on the music mogul at her concerts.
