Prince William and Prince George Attend Euro Final as Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte Hit Up Wimbledon

Prince William and Prince George had a father-son date at the Euro Final match in Berlin, Germany, on Sunday as Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte took in a match of their own — tennis, that is — at Wimbledon in London.

The father-son duo — who have also attended the Emirates FA Cup and Taylor Swift’s London Eras Tour concert together in recent weeks — were spotted taking in a game between Spain and England. The elder royal, 42, was seen chatting it up with his eldest son, 11, and UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin and Felipe VI, King of Spain.

At one point, William was spotted bending down to George’s level as they shared a moment and discussed the game, which ultimately went to Spain in a 2-1 upset.

Despite the loss, the next in line for the British throne and his own heir kept it neutral and didn’t put their disappointment on display as they graciously accepted defeat.

Meanwhile, some 600 miles away in London, Charlotte, 9, and Kate, 42, attended Wimbledon together — which marked the Princess of Wales’ second public appearance since announcing her cancer diagnosis in March.

Charlotte and Kate — who is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club — attended the Wimbledon Men’s Single Finals game and watched Carlos Alcaraz of Spain and Novak Djokovic of Serbia face off for the big prize. The mother and daughter were also joined by Middleton’s sister, Pippa Middleton.

The royal took to her social media accounts to celebrate her return as well. “Great to be back at @Wimbledon!,” the post read alongside a photo of her waving from the stands. “There’s nothing quite like The Championships 🎾.”

Middleton’s last appearance at Wimbledon came in 2023 when she attended with William and their two oldest children. The pair also share young son, Prince Louis, 6.

The outings come just weeks after William’s father, King Charles III — who also underwent treatments for cancer earlier this year — hilariously referred to his grandkids in a speech with his son in attendance.

During a welcome dinner for Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, cameras caught William giving his father a smirk after he joked about his rambunctious crop of grandchildren while he recounted his experiences spending time with Naruhito in the past.

“I am only sorry to report that I haven’t had any better luck with more recent attempts at fishing,” Charles shared as he read from his prepared speech. “The Pokémon phrase ‘gotta catch ’em all’ may resonate with my grandchildren, but for me it is, perhaps, aspirational.”

Charles is also grandfather to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s two children — Archie, 5 and Lilibet, 3.

ET spoke with royal expert Katie Nicholl in May, who explained why Charles badly wants to reconnect with Harry and rebuild his relationship with his grandchildren, who currently live in California.

“He very much wants to be close to his son again and to see more of his grandchildren, who he’s barely seen since they were born,” Nicholl said.

“Harry has said that he had hoped that, out of the adversity of his father’s illness, he would reunify with the family. It’s clearly very much his intention,” she added. “My understanding is the king also wants to sort of rekindle his relationship with his son. He loves his son. He’s a very forgiving man. I think he certainly wants to move on.”
