Blake Lively Says She’s Channeling Britney Spears With Denim Fashion Statement

Blake Lively isn’t apologizing for her latest looks — she’s actually going to pay homage to the woman that inspired it.

Over the weekend, the 36-year-old was spotted in New York City rocking a denim dress, embellished with rhinestones by Self-Portrait, which she paired wit a denim trench by Dries Van Noten.

Lively added some more denim with a small cross-body bag by Chanel.

If the moment looks familiar, it’s because Lively knows the world has seen in Britney Spears — who famously wore an all denim look at the 2001 American Music Awards with Justin Timberlake

“You say Canadian Prom Dress, I say It’s Britney B**ch👖👖👖 Happy belated birthday to @brandonsklenar We had so much fun celebrating with all the @itendswithusmovie cast who was in town. 🙁 @isabela.ferrer making my ‘My Size Barbie’ dreams come true, letting me dress her up for the night. I’m still 🤤over all the @storrowjewelry layered necklaces and charms ✨,” she wrote alongside photos of the full look as she made her way through NYC, and pics from inside the dinner with the It Ends With Us cast.

Lively also took a moment to give a special shout-out to the person who captured the phone.

“📸: @thestewartofny *I don’t usually post or encourage pap shots but these guys leave my kids alone so they have my respect 🫡,” she wrote.

Lively’s recent style statement came after she revealed last week that she got the “best compliment.” Along with the post, the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star shared some major style moments from her recent press tour, including one with her mother-in-law.

“I got maybe the best compliment of my life after this weekend. Someone on social called me a ‘crown straightener’. ‘A woman going around straightening all the women’s crowns around her,'” Lively wrote in part. “It meant so much to me because it’s those invisible things people see that make us all feel best.”
