Sofia Vergara knows how to make an idyllic vacation in Italy look even more amazing!
The actress and America’s Got Talent judge took to Instagram several times over the past few days to share some lavish, luxurious and alluring photos of her time in Italy — where she is vacationing with her 32-year-old son, Manolo, and her new boyfriend, Dr. Justin Saliman.
Vergara, 52, has posted numerous slideshow posts to Instagram over the past few days, documenting their trip to the beautiful locale, sharing photos of herself in stunning ensembles, and a few rare pics of Saliman, a respected orthopedic surgeon whom she’s been dating since earlier this year.
She also posted a photo of herself, her son and her boyfriend, posing with a few of the other guests she traveled with — including producer Luis Balaguer and beauty brand CEO Anastasia Soare.
Vergara captioned the post simply, “Best vacation partners ❤️❤️❤️❤️”
Back in October, the Modern Family star stunned in a black corset, purple suede pants and black heels while heading out to dinner with Saliman in Beverly Hills, which marked one of the first times the pair were spotted together.
Their romance comes after Vergara and her ex-husband, Joe Manganiello, announced they were calling it quits in July 2023, after eight years. In April 2024, ET confirmed that the A-list stars finalized their divorce. Vergara was previously married to her high school sweetheart — with whom she shares Manolo. Their marriage ended in 1993, after two years.
As for Saliman, he studied sports medicine at Stanford — where he cared for the San Francisco 49ers and Stanford athletes — before earning his medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
The Denver native, who practices at the famed Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, completed his orthopedic surgery residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center of Columbia University in New York City.
According to a Forbes report, Saliman is the inventor of the NovoStitch Pro Meniscal Repair System, which was acquired by the medical technology company Smith & Nephew in 2019 for a whopping $105 million. According to his bio, Saliman still uses the device to repair knee joints, and he’s considered the foremost medical expert when it comes to sewing meniscus tears back together.
A source spoke with ET in April, and said, “Sofia and Dr. Justin Saliman’s relationship has gotten more serious.”
“They’ve been having a great time together and really enjoy each other’s company,” the source said. “Justin loves Sofia’s enthusiasm, character, sense of humor, and how hardworking she is. They love to have fun dinner date nights and have a natural chemistry whether it’s just the two of them out or if they’re with friends too.”
“Sofia has moved on from her past relationship and appreciates the lessons she’s learned from it. She is grateful for that experience but is putting her energy into the future and excited about this new chapter. Sofia and Joe both just want to move on and be happy in their own lives,” the source said.
