Wild Turkey Attacks Car in Viral Video: Watch

A Boston woman was left ruffled after her car sustained significant damage during a wild turkey attack that was caught on video.

When Alicia Mastroianni left her home in the neighborhood of Brighton to go to work at Boston Children’s Hospital on July 15, she discovered a note left on her parked vehicle, which was covered in scores of new scratches, according to CBS News affiliate WBZ-TV.

“All sides of my car were messed up, like, completely scratched,” Mastroianni recalled to the outlet. “I saw the note, I was like, ‘Oh gosh, someone hit my car.’ ”

The note had been left by a neighbor across the street who helpfully recorded the incident and informed Mastroianni that the mystery culprit was a turkey.

“[The note] says, ‘I just watched and recorded a massive turkey attack your car for over 15 minutes. Sorry you were the target of this turkey rage,’ ” Mastroianni told WBZ-TV.

Mastroianni said she sent the video to her dad and he “just laughed.” When she shared the wild story with her friends, they encouraged her to post the video on TikTok, which she did.

She captioned the video — which quickly went viral, racking up more than 6.8 million views — “Moves to Boston… Gets Car Attacked by a Turkey… was not on my list of things to be prepared for in the city.” She also tagged several auto insurance companies and media outlets.

The video — fittingly set to audio in which the only words are “Oh no, no, no, no!” — shows a large turkey strutting around the perimeter of her black convertible sedan and pecking away at the car’s shiny exterior. At one point, the animal even flew up and kicked the driver’s side window.

Mastroianni concluded the video by sharing an up-close look at the damage to her car.

Thanks to the quick thinking of her neighbor in capturing the footage of the turkey’s attack, Mastroianni was able to provide proof to her insurance company and the damage will be covered under her policy.

“Who’s going to believe that a turkey attacks your car in Boston?” she told WBZ-TV. “You just got to take it with a light heart and laugh it off.”

TikTok users also embraced the humor of the situation in the comments under the video. One person joked that Mastroianni’s car had been “turKEYED,” while another quipped, “Any chance your insurance covers Acts of Fowl?”

Another person chimed in: “Farmers insurance needs to make a commercial about this!! 🤣🤣.”

The Massachusetts Environmental Police told the news outlet that the turkey may have acted aggressively because it saw its own reflection in the car’s metallic exterior and thought it was a rival animal.

The agency said people can protect their own cars by covering them or making noise to scare away any offending turkeys.
