The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris are off to a strong start. Only a few days in, and we’ve already witnessed a star-studded Prelude party, a thrilling Opening Ceremony (Gaga! Celine!), and incredible displays of athleticism, from top athletes such as Simone Biles. The events have been chockfull of A-listers—Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Tom Cruise, Michelle Yeoh, and many more among them.
Over the weekend, Wicked co-stars Grande and Erivo took in both the Opening Ceremony and the gymnastics qualification round in style. Both are continuing to embrace method dressing, donning shades of Elphaba green and Glinda pink as a nod to their upcoming film (Grande chose a pink Thom Browne frock for the opening ceremony, while Erivo opted for an emerald green Louis Vuitton dress.)
Others who turned out for day one of gymnastics—where they watched Biles deliver a history-making performance on the mat—included Jessica Chastain, Tom Cruise, Nina Dobrev, and Lady Gaga, who was fresh off delivering a fabulous Opening Ceremony number. (In Dior Couture, no less.) Equally as powerful at the opening event, of course, was Celine Dion—who marked her first live performance since announcing she was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome.
Before the competitions even kicked off, dozens of fashionable celebrities attended the Prelude to the 2024 Olympic Gamess: LeBron James, Pharrell, Jeremy Allen White, Rosalía, Charlize Theron, Tyla, and Serena Williams, to name a few.
