Gina Rodriguez, Justin Baldoni Celebrate 5th Anniversary of Jane the Virgin Finale

Somehow, it’s been five years since Jane Villanueva finally got her happily ever after.

July 31 marked the fifth anniversary of Jane the Virgin‘s series finale. Many of the show’s stars took some time to reflect on its 100 episodes, hitting fans with a wave of nostalgia – and raising hopes of a potential return to the telenovela world.

Justin Baldoni shared a carousel of five photos from the CW series, including a shot from behind the scenes of the final episode, which saw Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Baldoni) finally tie the knot after years of a will-they-won’t-they romance.

“Can’t believe it’s been five years since we finished #janethevirgin. I’m still blown away by all the love and support we continue to receive. It always brings me joy to hear how much this show has meant to so many,” Baldoni, 40, wrote in the caption.

Along with the photo from the wedding scene – which also included Yael Groblas, who played Petra, and Jaime Camil, who played Jane’s dad Rogelio – Baldoni shared a group selfie with other castmembers including Andrea Navedo and Ivone Coll, who played Jane’s mother and grandmother, respectively, as well as some funny photos with Brett Dier, who played Jane’s original love interest, Michael.

“Thank you to everyone who made this show a part of their lives. And to my TV family who will always be family to me…I love you all,” he continued, before concluding the caption with a major tease that sent fans’ hearts racing as he referenced the show’s notorious villain. “But I’ve been thinking…what if Sin Rostro isn’t really dead after all? 🤪”

Rodriguez, 40, shared her former costar’s post on her Instagram Stories, writing, “I miss this life.”

Navedo, who played Jane’s mother Xiomara, gave Baldoni a shout-out in her own post as she thanked him for the “beautiful reminder” of the anniversary.

“I can’t believe it’s been 5 years already since we wrapped Jane!” she wrote in the caption of her post, which featured a montage of photos from filming the show for five years. “This was truly my home away from home ❤️.”

Emotions were high on July 31, 2019, when the final episode of the beloved series – which was nominated for four Golden Globes and gave Rodriguez her first win in 2015 – aired. Rodriguez shared multiple tributes to the groundbreaking series on Instagram as she reflected on “five years of love, laughter, growth, pain, surprises, deaths, new births and a s— ton of memories.”

“I am able to live out my dream career because of you and I will never stop making art to bring Joy and Laughter into your home/train ride/plane ride or classroom!” she wrote in the post. “Thank you to Jennie [Snyder Urman, showrunner] for making me your Jane and to the incredible cast for becoming my family. I will always love you Jane.”

Groblas, 40, said that filming the finale episode was “a blur of tears and hugs and laughter and very strong feelings” as she called the cast “a unique group that somehow made magic happen.”

Baldoni shared the same photo he posted for the fifth anniversary – a shot of himself, Rodriguez, Groblas and Camil – as the It Ends With Us star and director said he “can’t believe this is it” ahead of the episode’s premiere.

“Forgive me as I may be posting a lot today as I am feeling very sentimental (as usual). So much gratitude. What a journey this has been. What a family we have become. What a blessing.”
