Taylor Swift’s London Eras Tour Shows Will Not Be Impacted by Terror Plot: Police

London police are denying that the alleged terror plot in Austria will impact Taylor Swift’s upcoming five Eras Tour shows in the city.

The Metropolitan Police Service said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE that “there’s nothing to indicate that the matters being investigated by the Austrian authorities will have an impact on upcoming events here in London.”

They say that the city hosts “a significant number of very high profile events each year with millions of visitors having a safe and enjoyable experience.”

Officials add that they work closely with venue security teams and “other partners” to guarantee proper safety protocols are in place.

“As always, we will continue to keep any new information under careful review,” the police say.

Swift is expected to do a five-show run in London starting on Aug. 15 at Wembley Stadium, with Paramore and a cycle of other supporting artists.

The singer’s previous tour stops in Vienna from Aug. 8 to 10 at the Ernst Happel Stadium were canceled after authorities confirmed on Aug. 7 that two men were arrested in connection to a planned attack on the scheduled concerts.

A third suspect was arrested the following day, according to reports from multiple outlets.

Austrian authorities shared in a news conference that one of the suspects they detained admitted to intending “to carry out an attack” at the concert “using explosives and knives,” per several outlets.

Swift has yet to release a statement about the events that occurred.

However, Swift and Disney surprised fans in Austria with a special opportunity to see the Eras Tour concert movie by partnering with a local cable station to air the movie.

In the aftermath of the canceled tour stops, a large group of fans also gathered in Vienna for impromptu singalongs and to trade their signature friendship bracelets.

The Vienna Tourist Board also supported the Swifties by amplifying several entertainment options for ticket holders in the city, including free entry to museums and a “crystal surprise” from Swarovski.
