Alexa Havins Joins ‘General Hospital’ as Lulu Spencer

Alexa Havins is returning to soap operas and will join General Hospital!

The actress, 43, is reportedly joining the ABC soap opera as Lulu Spencer, Luke and Laura Spencer’s daughter, per Soap Opera Digest, TV Line and Daytime Confidential

Havins, who previously played Babe Carey Chandler in All My Children from 2003-07, will debut on General Hospital later this fall on ABC, per TV Line.

A representative for ABC did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for more information on Tuesday.

In her new role, Havins will portray the young woman who has been in a coma in the soap opera since late 2020. Earlier this year, after the July 19 episode, speculation about Lulu waking up from her coma began to circulate when Lulu’s ex, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), and her mother, Laura Collins (Genie Francis), visited her in the hospital.

During the episode, Dante and Laura tell the unconscious Lulu she must wake up because Dante and Lulu’s children need their mother.

Jonathan Jackson previously confirmed in June he is making his return as Lulu’s brother, Lucky.

Havins will replace Emme Rylan, who starred as Lulu from 2013 to 2020. Rylan confirmed on Aug. 7 that the role had been recast, per TV Line.

At the time, Rylan said on her Instagram Stories that she was “very disappointed” but was “glad to finally have closure” about the part. Rylan stepped into the role after two-time Daytime Emmy-winner Julie Marie Berman left it after portraying Lulu from 2005 to 2013, according to TV Line.
