Kamala Harris’ Campaign Selling Taylor Swift-Style Friendship Bracelet

  • The official website of the Harris-Walz campaign is now selling Taylor Swift-style friendship bracelets for $20 that read “Harris Walz 24″
  • The items were added to the website shortly after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for U.S. president via an Instagram post
  • Swapping handmade beaded bracelets became a favorite pastime of Swifties at the singer’s Eras Tour, which first kicked off in March 2023

The Harris-Walz presidential campaign is following the lead of Taylor Swift.

Following Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race on Tuesday, Sept. 10, the Harris-Walz official website has started to sell friendship bracelets in a nod to the musician’s fans.

Priced at $20, the blue and black bracelets feature beads that read “Harris Walz 24.” Any money raised from sales will go towards the Harris Victory Fund.

“Are you ready for it? Harris-Walz friendship bracelets are here!” a description of the bracelets on the website reads, referencing Swift’s 2017 track “…Read For It?”

The bracelets are expected to be released on Sept. 24.

Swapping handmade beaded bracelets became the favorite pastime of Swifties at the singer’s Eras Tour, which first kicked off in March 2023. The gesture was inspired by the Midnights song, “You’re on Your Own, Kid,” and the lyric, “Make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it.”

Swift shared that she was backing Harris, 59, and Walz, 60, in an announcement on her social media, moments after Harris wrapped her first debate with her opponent, former President Donald Trump.

Soon after the Instagram post, Harris’ official campaign account on X (formerly known as Twitter) shared Swift’s post in a video set to “…Ready For it?” that featured a photo of Harris on stage in front of her supporters with the caption, “Ready for it 🫶 .”

Harris also exited her debate watch party to Swift’s feminist anthem “The Man.” In a video posted to Instagram on Sept. 10, the U.S. vice president was seen walking off the stage at the watch party to the 2020 track after telling the crowd, “Hard work is good work and we will win, we will win.”

In her Instagram post backing Harris, Swift wrote in part, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

“I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades,” she continued in the post, which featured a photo of herself holding her cat Benjamin.

Swift then reminded her followers to register to vote before signing off the statement as a Childless Cat Lady,” a reference to the 2021 comments made by Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance.

The pop superstar previously threw her support behind President Joe Biden and Harris during the 2020 election campaign. At the time, she announced her support by posting her cover for V Magazine’s Thought Leaders issue on Instagram with the caption, “I spoke to @vmagazine about why I’ll be voting for Joe Biden for president.”

The October 2020 post landed on the same day as the VP debate between Harris and Mike Pence, with Swift writing that she was “gonna be watching and supporting @kamalaharris by yelling at the tv a lot.”
