All About His Sons and Daughters

Aside from leading a crime family, John Gotti was a father to his kids: Angela, Victoria, John Angelo, Frank and Peter.

Known as the “Dapper Don,” Gotti Sr. quickly climbed the ranks of the Gambino crime family after organizing the murder of its prior boss, Paul Castellano.

He was so dedicated to “the streets,” as his son John Angelo called his career, that he prioritized it over his own family at home in New York City’s Howard Beach.

“There was nothing he didn’t like about it. My father lived that life 24/7,” he told CBS News. “In fact, his wife and kids were second to the streets. He loved it. He loved the code. He loved the action.”

While Gotti Sr. died in prison in 2002, his legacy still looms large over his children and grandchildren.

Here’s everything to know about John Gotti’s kids: Angela, Victoria, John Angelo, Frank and Peter.

Gotti Sr. and his wife Victoria welcomed their first child together, Angela “Angel” Gotti, in 1961.

Angela keeps a lower profile than her siblings, with her Instagram account set to private. That said, she is active on X (formerly Twitter), where she mentions her family, including her two kids, son Frankie Gotti Albano and daughter Victoria Gotti Albano, from her former relationship with trucking company executive Louis Albano.

Angela has long defended her family publicly from headlines and reports she felt were unjust or inaccurate, even launching her own website in 2001 to refute stories about her father when he was in solitary confinement in prison and dealing with cancer, per The New York Post.

She regularly attended her brother John Angelo’s trial dates, and on at least one occasion, she broke down in tears after hearing an audio recording of her father in court. Angela later told The New York Post, “I don’t like to hear my father talking. How would you like to hear someone who died? It upset me very much. It’s hard for me to see and hear him.”

In 2013, she launched a shoe line called Angel Gotti Footwear, selling hand-decorated flip-flops and sandals embellished with beads, flowers, ribbons and crystals. She told Footwear News that each pair takes several hours to make and that she planned to add handbags to her collection the following year.

Since then, Angela has lived her life mainly out of the public eye, though she continues to support her family’s endeavors, like her nephew’s boxing career.

Gotti Sr. and his wife welcomed their second child, daughter Victoria Gotti, in 1962.

She and her siblings were raised in the Howard Beach neighborhood of Queens in N.Y.C. During an interview with PEOPLE in 2019, Victoria reflected on her upbringing and shared an anecdote about how her dad encouraged her to be resilient.

“One time when I was a kid, I fell and I was crying,” she recalled. “And I remember him kneeling down — I thought he was coming to pick me up — and he said, ‘Remember, Victoria: We don’t fall. We bounce, you hear me?’ ”

In 1984, Victoria married Carmine Agnello, a member of the Gambino crime family. She and Agnello share three adult sons: Carmine Gotti Agnello Jr., John Gotti Agnello and Frank Gotti Agnello.

Victoria wrote her first book, Women and Mitral Valve Prolapse: A Comprehensive Guide to Living With M.V.P. and Its Symptoms, in 1995, inspired by her own experiences with the genetic heart condition.

She followed it up with the novels The Senator’s Daughter, I’ll Be Watching You and Superstar. Victoria then released the cookbook Hot Italian Dish and the memoir This Family of Mine: What It Was Like Growing Up Gotti.

Apart from her published work, she was also a reporter for WNYW, New York City’s Fox affiliate, and a New York Post columnist.

In 2000, Victoria’s husband Carmine was charged with federal racketeering and tax evasion charges, The New York Times reported. He pleaded guilty in exchange for a reduced sentence of nine years in prison and the forfeiture of $10 million in assets. In 2003, Victoria and Carmine divorced.

A year after she and Carmine split, Victoria and her sons starred in the A&E reality show Growing Up Gotti. After the project concluded in 2005, she later starred in Celebrity Apprentice in 2012.

More recently, Victoria worked with Lifetime to cowrite and produce her TV biopic Victoria Gotti: My Father’s Daughter. While speaking to PEOPLE about the work, Victoria revealed that she missed her dad, in part because he had “a lot of heart.”

“When we were much younger, he would say, ‘You can’t put a price on freedom. Every day you’re free you should live life as if it’s your last,’ ” she recounted. “Now all these years later, I realize what he means. He just appreciated things more than others would have. He taught me that.”

Nowadays, Victoria is active on social media, celebrating her kids and growing family.

Gotti Sr. and his wife Victoria welcomed their son John Angelo Gotti in 1964.

John Angelo was inducted into the Gambino crime family in 1988, which he told 60 Minutes was “the proudest moment of [his] life” because it meant he was like his father.

“My father was my cause,” he said. “If my father wasn’t in that life, I probably wouldn’t have been in the street life either. Whatever he was is what I wanted to be. And if he decided the next day, ‘You know what? I don’t like this anymore. I’m gonna be a butcher,’ I would tell him, ‘I hope you have a smock for me.’ ”

When his father was incarcerated in 1992, John Angelo and his uncle Peter became de facto bosses for the family, though The New York Times reported they still took their orders from Gotti Sr.

In 1998, John Angelo was charged with extortion of construction companies, labor unions and the New York City club Scores, as well as for allegedly defrauding telephone companies, according to The New York Times. He reached a plea agreement with prosecutors to serve six years and five months in prison and pay a $1 million fine, but it wasn’t the last time he faced legal issues.

In 2015, John Angelo released his memoir, Shadow of My Father, about growing up as the son of the “Teflon Don.” Three years later, the film Gotti, starring John Travolta as the Gambino boss, premiered and it was based on John Angelo’s book.

On the personal front, he married his wife, Kimberly Gotti, in 1990. They share six children, including son John Gotti III, a mixed martial arts fighter.

Gotti Sr. and his wife Victoria welcomed their son Frank Gotti in 1967.

Little is known about Frank, who died at the age of 12 after he was hit by a car on March 18, 1980.

In his older sister Victoria’s memoir This Family of Mine, she recalled Frank riding a minibike near a construction site when a neighbor, John Favara, ran him over. The police ruled it an accident, and no criminal charges were filed, according to The Seattle Times.

Four months later, though, Favara was reportedly shot to death, per papers obtained by the newspaper.

Gotti Sr.’s youngest child is Peter Gotti.

Peter tends to fly under the radar: He and his wife, Tricia Gotti, own the Rebel Ink Tattoo & Piercing parlors in different parts of New York, including in Queens and Long Island. The couple also share four sons and one daughter.

In 2017, Peter’s son John was sentenced to eight years in prison for possession and intent to sell narcotics. At the time, Peter told reporters, “My heart is wherever he winds up. Worst thing I’ve seen in my life but what am I going to do? I am a father. I love my son with all my heart.”

He added, “We will get through this. He will be fine, he is a strong kid. He will be fine. He will come out a much better man than he went in.”

One year later, Peter’s son John was sentenced to five years in prison for arson, The New York Times reported, half of which would be served concurrently with his drug sentence.
