Passenger Plane with 62 People Onboard Crashes in Brazil, Airline Says

A passenger plane carrying 62 people onboard has crashed in Brazil, according to the airline.

VoePass said in a translated statement posted to Facebook that the plane crashed in Vinhedo, São Paulo, on Friday, Aug. 9.

“The aircraft took off from Cascavel, Parana bound for Guarulhos Airport with 58 passengers and 4 crew members on board,” their statement said.

“Voepass has taken all measures to support those involved,” VoePass added. “There is still no confirmation of how the accident occurred or the status of the people on board.”

A message on the airline’s website also is providing a hotline for relatives of the passengers to use for updates on the crash.
