Immediately following the Kansas City Chiefs‘ thrilling overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, both teams opened atop the betting board as the favorites to win it all next season.
Now, with the NFL season on the horizon and the preseason in full swing, they remain the favorites.
However, one team from the NFC South has seen its odds move and an NFC West squad is surging up the board.
Let’s check out the latest Super Bowl odds via FanDuel Sportsbook as of August 19.

The Niners — one of the teams at the top of the board — have remained steady as the co-favorites, despite the fact super star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk formally requested a trade from the team on July 16.
FOX Sports NFC West analyst Eric Williams explained why it could be costly to keep the talented wideout.
“[T]he 49ers already have receiver Deebo Samuel under contract for two more years on a three-year, $73.5 million deal,” he wrote.
“Even with San Francisco chasing a Super Bowl, Aiyuk could be too expensive to keep beyond 2024.”
After two preseason contests, Atlanta’s odds are on the move. In the past two weeks, the Falcons’ Super Bowl futures have shifted slightly to +2600 from +2800.
In the team’s first preseason game, rookie Michael Penix Jr. threw for 104 yards. Penix, the No. 8 pick out of Washington, is expected to back up Kirk Cousins this season.
FOX Sports NFC South Reporter Greg Auman wrote about the Penix-Cousins situation: “Kirk Cousins is our franchise quarterback, is our starting quarterback, and he seems to be doing great from a medical standpoint,” Falcons owner Arthur Blank said. “His attitude, his leadership, culturally, personally, with our players, with the coaching staff, has been nothing short of outstanding. So we couldn’t be happier with that situation.”
“The Herd” host Colin Cowherd defended Atlanta’s decision to draft Penix.
“Every great asset in America — it could be a yacht, it could be a mansion — has an insurance policy,” Cowherd explained. “Having two capable quarterbacks is a disaster?
“Atlanta is going to have an insurance policy for just one year — Michael Penix — and then it’s going to pay them like an annuity for the next 15 [years].
Another team whose odds have surged up the board over the last month are the Seahawks.
They’ve moved to +5500 from +6500 in the weeks leading up to the start of the regular season.
For what it’s worth, in their first preseason game, the Seahawks defeated the Chargers 16-3.
Super Bowl LIX will be played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Feb. 9, 2025, and will be broadcast on FOX and the FOX Sports app.
